When I was pricing out different venues for our wedding, they all seemed to end up costing approximately the same no matter where we went or what we did. We ultimately decided to have our event at an historic hotel in a little river town approximately an hour away from where we live. This hotel had significance to us as we drove down for a Sunday Brunch when we first started dating and had an excellent day. The nice thing about the hotel is they are doing all the decorating and they have an excellent menu. The cake and flowers were more reasonable than in the city where we live, but the commute and the hotel room cost is more so it's really personal preference. You have a nice intimate size for a classy, memorable wedding and you can do it reasonably. Good luck to you and Congratulations! I am getting married 9/20/08. We are having 100 guests.
