Are hydrolyzed keratin and urea animal by-products?

0

For the most part anything that comes from an animal be it part of them or something that falls off or comes out of them is bi-product. Urea is pee… so yes. Hydro keratin I believe stems from wool and down… so yes with that too. However there might be different ways to form hydro keratin that do not involve bi-products. If you want check out http://lush.com/. They have tons of beauty products, none are tested on animals and they have vegan items (clearly marked) too. I LOVE their stuff. The nice thing is, is it does not matter what corner of the world you live on. They will ship to you. EDIT: ok so urea really is not “pee” but it is in the pee and other fluids that are found in the body. It is something that is also formed in the body, thus it is part of the animal. Thus it is a bi-product. Not a major one, but it still is…. well i guess unless it is created in a lab, which is possible.
