Are LAIV and TIV interchangeable for healthy children 5-8 years of age who need two doses?
Yes. If two doses of LAIV are administered, separate them by at least 6 weeks. If two doses of TIV are administered, separate them by at least 4 weeks. If the child is receiving one LAIV and one TIV for some reason, separate them by 4 weeks if TIV is administered for the first dose and separate them by 6 weeks if LAIV is administered for the first dose.
