Are large dog doors safe from burglars?
Some dog doors for larger breeds can be mounted a few inches off the floor and and minimize the opening size of the door. Get a door that’s just big enough for your husky. There’s a good chance that a normal sized human couldnt’ fit through it anyway. Keeping it locked at night and while gone should be sufficient to deter burglars. Maybe installing a motion light (I have one and love it) just above the door would be a great deterrant. Burglar comes near door and light comes on. They certainly don’t want to be in the spotlight! I also wouldn’t leave it unlocked while you are gone since your dog can still go out and many, many pets are stolen right from their own backyards when their owners were gone 🙁 Good luck!
