No. On the route for the causeway there is a short section of ground, approximately 50 metres in length, where surface clays have dried out as a result of the lowered water level. This has created some surface cracking. Construction methods have been modified to allow for this cracked foundation and to ensure that any existing surface cracks do not degrade the new construction work. There is no evidence of cracking in the new road, even with the higher traffic.
