You do not have to get two lovebirds. Contrary to belief, lovebirds are very mean to other birds. If you are a first time bird owner, get neither. You’ll be overwhelmed. I’d start off with a budgie, then move on to a lovebird after doing some research, maybe go see a breeder and learn about parrots. Don’t jump into birds too quickly. Parrots are just like having a child. They are destructive, loud, and time consuming.
