Are Magnetic Therapy Products Worth the Money? Tuesday June 2, 2009 Each year, Americans spend hundreds of millions of dollars on magnetic therapy products such as magnetic bracelets, necklaces, earrings, wraps, belts, insoles, blankets, and mattress pads. While proponents assert that such products can help treat or prevent conditions like multiple sclerosis, circulatory disorders, insomnia, and even cancer and heart disease, scientific evidence fails to back up these claims. As such, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) considers magnetic therapy products of no use for medical purposes. Still, a few studies have shown that magnetic therapy may help people manage pain resulting from chronic conditions like arthritis and fibromyalgia. F
