Are Military FPS Games secretly recruiting people to join the Army?
Very unlikely. Nine times out of ten, the developers don’t even know anybody in the military and only hire a military adviser so it’s not completely inaccurate (although they’ll usually keep some of the suggestions and throw out the rest out of the interest of making the game “cooler”). Most people who play war games don’t instantly want to join based on it and a few people who decide to join based on games end up washing out of training anyway when they find out it’s not as fun as the game makes it look. Most people who join the Army join either out of a sense of duty, benefits, or just something to do after graduation.
