Yes, compact or mini-fridges, defined as less than 7.75 cubic feet in volume and 36 inches or less in height, have to use at least 20 percent less energy than the maximum NAECA standard to qualify for ENERGY STAR. Compact units have different criteria than standard-sized units. All standard-sized refrigerators, defined as 7.75 cubic feet or greater in volume, must be at least 15 percent below the maximum NACEA standard to qualify for ENERGY STAR.
