Are more people bulimic or anorexic?

0

More people are bulimic. Anorexia requires extreme control which not everyone has. Contrary to previous postings, many people start by trying to cut right down on intake but have not got the self-control to become anorexic, leading to them starting binge-purge cycles. Many people swing between the two throughout their disordered eating ‘career’, managing anorexia when they have excellent selfcontrol and then taking on bulimic tendencies when feeling less strong or when they know they need to appear in recovery. To be classed as anorexic you have to have lost 25% of your average body weight. Many bulimics do not reach that as their bodies still absorb some of the nutrients from food before vomitting.
