No, and it does not matter if you could use them for hunting or not, in fact no weapon is protected simply because it could be used for hunting. The required definition is one that could be used by the militia. Basically the US govt is not allowed to prevent the supply of weapons to US citizen. It can ban this and that gun as long as a citizen can buy a gun that could be used by the militia for a reasonable price. Obviously there needs to be competition and they cannot push the prices up by having a monopoly, but as long as they don’t prevent people from being able to ban guns, they can ban just about what they like. In theory if the militia wants mortars, they have to be bought by the militia.
