Yes mussels are popular in india, they are especially popular in Kerala, Maharashtra, Karnataka-Bhatkal, and in Goa. Theya re prepared with drumsticks, bread fruit or other vegetables.

I’ve seen its popularity among locals when I was at Goa. But I cannot say it is popular in India as food.In fact, many people – even from the Eastern Coastal belt- would be horrified if told to eat mussels !
