Are NHRA and John Force making some big changes?

Whether they like it or not, the management at the NHRA knows that as go the mega-teams of NHRA drag racing so goes the sport. By mega teams we’re referring to the teams headed by John Force, Don Schumacher, and to a lesser extent Ken Black. Those three teams control virtually 80% of the sport’s major corporate sponsors and sponsorships. This morning DRO received an email with details of big changes in NHRA policy regarding the nitro classes that would drastically affect both John Force Racing and Don Schumacher Racing, and as a result, all of the Top Fuel and Funny Car teams. According to the source, the NHRA is considering reducing the maximum number of Top Fuel and Funny Car (and probably Pro Stock) entries any team owner can have from the current max of four teams in each category to three. The Agent is not sure what reason the NHRA would have for this rule change other than to prohibit Schumacher, Force and possibly Connie Kalitta from having four-car teams in Top Fuel or Funny Ca
