Are non-Disney animated movies catching up?
Non-Disney animated movies are still struggling. They can’t match Disney’sstory-telling abilities and marketing. The other studios are also notfocused. Has the dispute between the two top executives, Jeffrey Katzenberg andMichael Eisner, affected Disney? The exit of Katzenberg has definitely affected Walt Disney. He could sensewhat audiences want: that was his biggest strength. Eisner is known for hisstrategy: he could plan 10 years down the road. They complemented eachother. But Disney is still very much on the scene. The industry is actuallygoing through a slump – it is a cyclic process which happens every 10-15years.
