Are non-perpetual care cemeteries regulated by any other state agency?
The Texas Funeral Service Commission registers cemeteries that operate to the public and are not licensed with the Texas Department of Banking as a perpetual care cemetery. They can be reached at (888) 667-4881. In addition, the State Health Department will step in if the cemetery in question poses a health hazard to the community and the Attorney General’s Office Consumer Protection Division will investigate deceptive trade practice violations.
