In South Carolina, for example: Columbia, Oreangeburg, Lexington, you can buy a huge brick house for as low as $50,000 or even less if you talk to the owner and upgrade it a bit. I see some homes in SC for sale as low as $20,000. Don’t get scared by the folks, they are very friendly and safe. Best bet is Orangeburg, SC. It’s about 60 miles from the coast, houses are cheapest in USA. You can buy a very good house for $100K.
