Are Online Greeting Cards Stupid?
Yes many people think online greeting cards are stupid and here’s why. Many are just not well made. Also it seems very insincere to be getting a free e-card in the e-mail, rather than a paid-for card in the regular mail. Makes one feel cheap. And why even bother sending an electronic card at all? Why not just send an email saying “happy birthday” or “get well” or whatever? It takes lots less time to send an email greeting than to look for a free e-card and email that. But there is another side to online greeting cards. Virtually all e-cards these days are animated in some way. They feature talking characters, sometimes singing, or lovely scenes of nature. Plus they all feature a space where you can write your own message. Some even have a space where you can insert a photo. And another plus is that you can schedule the card to arrive on a certain day.
