Are organic fabrics better for younger and sensitive skin?
This is an ongoing debate and the benefits of organic clothing have not yet been proven in a rigorous enough way for any conclusive answer to this question. Clothing has constant contact with the largest organ of our bodies. Extra care is needed when choosing clothes for babies’ skin and so choosing organic clothing, which is free from all toxins and chemicals, will definitely lower the possibility of your child’s skin becoming aggravated. New babies’ skin, in particular, is susceptible to sensitivity as their skin is not fully developed and can easily be dried out. However, if you cannot find organic clothes, look for soft, natural fibres such as brushed cotton or cotton fleece, which won’t irritate your baby’s delicate skin. Always wash the garment in products designed for delicate skin before allowing your child to wear it.
