Are Parson Russells good with children?
A true Parson Russell SHOULD be excellent with children but, having said that, you need to proceed with caution. Many dogs have been bred either without regard to temperament or in the mistaken idea that a mean/”hard” dog is a better hunting dog. Either way, you will need to ask the breeder about their particular line and also, if possible, observe both parents (the dam/mother at a minimum) with your children. Also, with ANY dog, small children should be taught respect of the animal and NEVER left unsupervised. Small children frequently inflict pain on dogs without meaning to and ANY animal is pain is likely to react by biting if he cannot escape.
