Are Peekskill Robins Moving to Torrington, CT?
According to an article in The Register Citizen, a Connecticut newspaper, the Peekskill Robins are negotiating with the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League to move the team to Torrington, CT. The team is owned by a group led by local radio personality Rick Wolff. The sticking point at the moment is the impact a move to Torrington would have on travel logistics for the rest of the teams in the league. Even so, the league likes the idea of having a team in Torrington and believes the move could potentially lead to further expansion. According to league commissioner Ralph Addonizio, the league would like to grow from its current 12 teams to 14-15 teams. A vote on the proposed moved is expected later this week. A majority of the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League franchise owners must approve the deal before the relocation of the Robins to Torrington can take place.
