Certain survival instincts are likely hard-wired into our brains. We are, after all, animals. This can lead people to do bad things, or things they may regret. However, I firmly believe that, in general, individuals are born with a good-spirited nature and positive view of the world. Like any broad statement, there will be exceptions to the rule. The brain is a complex organ that we may never fully understand. Science has shown us that certain behaviors stem from problems in brain development. Areas of the brain that control behavior can be under-developed or over-developed, causing erratic behavior in an individual. But these are rare cases. Overall, most people are born with what we would dub a “normal” or “average” brain, and I would submit is a good moral compass already ingrained inside them.
