Are PhD students who transfer to UBC with a Faculty member eligible for a PhD Tuition Fee Award?

0

When students who have begun PhD studies at another university transfer to UBC with a Faculty member, their previous PhD studies are counted toward their UBC PhD program, and eligibility for awards will be calculated as if the years spent at the previous university were spent at UBC. For example, if a student transfers to UBC with a Faculty member after one year of PhD studies at another university, that students first year at UBC will be considered the second year of their PhD program, and thus that student would be eligible for the PhD Tuition Fee Award until the end of their fourth year of doctoral studies (i.e., until the end of their third year at UBC).
