Are pregnancy symptoms worse with twins?
When you are expecting twins, you might suffer more from some of the usual symptoms of pregnancy. But this will not always happen to everyone. Nausea and vomiting can be more of a problem if you are expecting twins. You will have higher levels of the pregnancy hormone, human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), which triggers morning sickness. In the early stages of pregnancy, higher levels of the hormone progesterone can also make you feel short of breath. Later on, having two babies push up against your diaphragm can also make breathlessness worse. You might also be more likely to have constipation or suffer from wind and bloating.
