Are radar detectors legal in the state of Georgia?
Radar detectors are legal in almost every US state, including Georgia. Don’t waste your money on a cheap one. More and more often, police are using laser (LIDAR) to measure speed. Although most radar detectors claim to detect laser, it is too late to slow down after laser is detected, since it only takes .2 seconds (2 tenths of a second) to read your speed with laser. If you are concerned about police laser in your area, your only alternative is a laser jammer. Laser jammers are also legal in Georgia. Radar jammers/scramblers are illegal in all states, under US Federal law.
