Are radioiodines the only danger from a nuclear accident?
NO. radioiodine is only one component of fallout from a nuclear accident. If you are told to evacuate, DO IT! Potassium Iodide pills are very effective to prevent future thyroid cancer in those that may be exposed to radioactive Iodines. They will not protect against the effect of direct radiation exposure (this occurs when you are very close to the actual source of radiation).
