Are sally hemmings and thomas Jefferson still living together?
You’ve got to be kidding me. Thomas Jefferson (April 13, 1743 – July 4, 1826) was the third President of the United States (1801–1809), the principal author of the Declaration of Independence (1776), and one of the most influential Founding Fathers for his promotion of the ideals of republicanism in the United States. Sally Hemings (Shadwell, Albemarle County, Virginia, circa 1773 – Charlottesville, Virginia, 1835) was an African-American slave owned by Thomas Jefferson. She was said to have been the half-sister of Jefferson’s wife Martha Wayles Skelton Jefferson. Journalists and others alleged during the administration of President Jefferson that he had fathered several children with Hemings after his wife’s death. Late 20th century DNA tests indicated that a male in Jefferson’s line, likely Thomas Jefferson himself, was the father of at least one of Sally Hemings’s children. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sally_Hemmin
