Are sheet protectors required?
They are not required. In fact, it may be best NOT to use sheet protectors since it is much easier for judges to examine materials on the page when sheet protectors are not used. Remember that the chapter activities are being judged and not the appearance of the book. The optional use of sheet protectors was at the request of some local chapters. The Awards Unlimited protectors are required if you use sheet protectors for competition, in an effort to provide consistency among scrapbooks. It may be best to not use any page protection until AFTER the book is judged, and then use whatever method of page protection you prefer when displaying the book in your school.
