Are Singaporean police really cruel?

As one who has been to Singapore, I wouldn’t consider their police cruel at all. Their police have a very positive image and are modeled after a military model. They take a rather no-nonsense approach to resolving problems, are revered by the general populace, so probably would seem a little authoritarian by Western standards. The thing to remember in a foreign country is YOU are the visitor and must adapt and not the other way around. Don’t violate the laws or local customs and you will have no problems.
