Are sugar gliders easy pets?
Sugar Gliders are not easy pets, but are great for people who have time and resources to care for them. They are wonderful little creatures, but very high maintenance. They are an exotic pet and have special needs. It is very important they are fed a variety of fresh fruits and veggies along with protein (meal worms, crickets etc). They need vitamin supplements to prevent paralysis of the hind legs and broken bones due to calcium deficiency, as well as other issues.. They cannot be trained to a litter box or to potty in one specific place and will due their buisness on you from time to time. They need plenty of excercise and their nails grow quite fast. There is an excercise wheel made for gliders that you can put in a special track (much like sand paper on a grid) that will take care of each of these things at the same time.
