No, they are all operated by meter and cost about 1/3rd of the taxi price in the UK. Getting to Downtown Dubai 20 kilometers away costs approximately £6. When you get in a taxi to get back to Marina Heights Tower always say you want to go to Spinneys at the Marina, the locals know this better than they do the tower names, probably due to the amount of them in Dubai! Taxis are easy to catch either outside the apartment or 2 minutes walk away at the Taxi Rank on Marina Walk.
