Are the Certificate Profiles in the General Category mandatory and is there scope to add additional information into the Certificate Profile?
The profiles specified in the General Business and Individual Policy Specifications are mandatory. There is scope for CAs to include additional information in the profile to meet particular business requirements of relying agencies. Where such additional information is included in certificate extensions it must be marked non-critical.
