Are the creation stories really that important to religion nowadays?
Having an understanding of where we came from can give many people a sense of peace and even purpose. So to some it is as important today as it was 2000 years ago. But every hypothesis has a flaw in that it can never go back far enough to define the moment of creation. Even in Biblical scriptures, God created the Universe, well where did Jehovah come from? You can’t just say “he was there because he’s God”. Everything has a moment of beginning even Jehovah. Evolutionists say life formed at the moment of the Big Bang. Ok, but what went Bang and where did it come from? Even we pagans have a story of Creation. We tend to believe in the Divine intervention of the Big Bang and the subsequent evolution there after.
