Are the San Francisco Giants getting value from Barry Zito?
Talk about a bad mistake. Yet, there are always solutions. Since no other team in baseball would ever take Barry Zito and his contract, he has no trade value. Since cant send him down to minors (his contract doesnt allow it), we cant even free up the pen for someone better either. The best solution would be this (take note Bruce): Send him to the bullpen since Jeremy Affeldt is our ONLY left handed reliever. He could actually serve as a left-handed specialist from the pen and work one or two innings when Lincecum and Cain need relief. Push Romo and Medders into the starting rotation without Sanchez. You’ll bring a tighter pitching staff all around.
