Are the SRS snow melters clean, safe and environmentally friendly?

Yes. Unlike submersible combustion melt methods, SRS melters use a closed loop heat exchanger design. This design utilizes a large diameter furnance tube, which allows complete combustion for low emissions, in conjunction with 250 + (# varies by model) 1.5″ diameter hot air return tubes. The large number of small diameter tubes creates an enormous amount of surface area for efficient heat transfer with the melt water. Our closed loop design does not allow any exhaust particulates to enter the exiting melt water during operation and there are no carbon monoxide safety issues for the operators. Our melt process ensures the end user that they are not adding pollutants to the melt water and into the storm drain system.
