Are the virgin music stores in NYC closing?!?

The Virgin Megastore on Union Square (14th Street) is closing as of February 2009. They say high rents in the area are the blame, but you can also add the fact that iTunes and other online digital music downloading retailers (legal AND illegal) are likely to blame for the closing as well. There hasn't been any word yet on the Times Square store.  more
