Are there any gnostic Christians here today?
Religious interpretation can be either Exoteric (outer) and Esoteric (inner). The Exoteric interpretations of the Abrahamic religions are the typical versions that you see in the world today. The Esoteric interpretations are Sufi Islam, Esoteric Christianity (Gnostics, Rosicrucians, Masons, Unity Church), and Judaic Kabbalah. Inner traditions are about guidance and communion with the divine. Inner traditions believe that all religion is about personal relationship with God, a God within creation, not outside of creation. Therefore, affirming a belief (trinity, Jesus is God, etc.) or rituals (baptism) are ridiculous because they are exterior of the individual, not interior involving personal growth. Salvation and redemption in most Esoteric systems is seen as equally ridiculous because we see God as already existing within creation.
