Firefox in combination with blocking popup sites either by ip or by dns name will much reduce annoyance advertising of all kinds. Even if the person posing the question decides to switch to a different site from pollstar.com, I’d recommend the practice of this on some level. Anytime I find an ad or content I don’t like, which is often, I block it. Usually at the router. This includes doubleclick. And while this causes some inconvience of it’s own, I much prefer the devil I know. I keep track of concerts I want to see by subscribing to band email lists, and automatically applying lables to them and using gmail. This is excellent for me as I’m not particularly ecclectic. Even if I were particularly ecclectic it’d be a good technique for keeping myself aware of the important acts I never want to miss.
