Are there any known conventions on the best way to save beached whales?
Forty five Globicephala melas {pilot whales } beached themselves on Fort George Island Florida back in the winter of 1978. Seven of my trusted Zoo students spent three days pulling them back out to the ocean. We were very tired and we burned out two 200 horse power outboards. BUT we saved about half of the whales……
