Are there any moorings for boats in Vieques?
There are moorings setup by the Natural Resources Department in the Esperanza Beach area, in the south coast. These are big round white with a single blue stripe around them. Currently you are not allowed to anchor close to or on the beaches on the eastern tip of the island. That area is off limit for contamination reasons. You are allowed to anchor anywhere else unless it is marked otherwise. You will probably find other boats from Puerto Rico anchoring in the Punta Arenas Beach area, in the west end.
