Prostate cancer is a disease that can be treated by hormonal therapy, radiation therapy, cryotherapy or surgery. These treatment options have been available for a long time; the methods of delivering these treatments have been refined. Radiation therapy and cryotherapy have been redesigned to decrease their side effects. Surgical therapy can now be done in a standard fashion or laparoscopically with or without robotic assistance. Hormonal therapy is still administered by injection or implant and has a good success rate controlling prostate cancer.
