Are there any predictions for outcomes of todays Iowa caucus?
Mr McClellan My prediction is that the candidate who finishes in third place will be the biggest news story out of the Iowa caucuses. On the Republican side, because Governor Huckabee doesn’t have much money or national organization he probably can not capitalize on a win tonight. Governor Romney can be wounded by not winning tonight but he has the money and organization to rebound next week in New Hampshire. 3rd place though is where the real action will be. For instance if Ron Paul captures third place that is huge news. If John McCain captures third place he is the comeback kid and well positioned to compete with Governor Romney in New Hampshire next week. If Fred Thompson captures third place he stays alive to compete in South Carolina. If Rudy Guliani captures third place he has a reason to claim his ‘wait until Florida’ strategy is working.
