No there shouldn’t be as long as you use the correct fixings. I fitted one about 6 months ago and the best advice i can give is to make sure you use the correct mortar/grout. When my fireplace arrived it came with a bag of white powder, i spoke to the company that sold it to me and they informed me that this is the special grout that must be used. They also told me that if i was going to use a mortar mix to fix the hearth then white sand MUST be used. If you use yellow or red sand then the limestone will absorb the colouring from the sand and it will be PERMANENTLY stained. Just something to make you aware of….
