Are there any Republicans in Illinois government?
Most of that is true, but it leaves out several key facts. Illinois has two part legislative system – both are controlled by the democrats, however, there are republican representatives in them. 11 of the 19 House Reps in the US congress are Dems, there are 7 Repubs, and 1 seat is vacant. So, in essence, yes, Illinois is pretty much run by the democrats, but the republicans do have a say in the matters.
