Yes there are. For example, you cannot credit local funds to your NRE account. Some, not all, of the sources from which you can credit funds to your NRE Account are given below: 1.Inward remittance from abroad 2.Transfer from other repatriable accounts (NRE/ FCNR accounts) 3. Proceeds of foreign currency traveler’s cheques or currency notes during visits to India 4.Income from investments made on repatriable basis. 5. Sale proceeds of investments made on repatriable basis.
