Are there any safety concerns associated with living near a Quarry?

The answer is both yes and no. There will be day to day traffic concerns we face everyday. As far as quarrying activities are concerned, no. There will be an approximately mile buffer between the public and quarry operations. No toxic emissions (air, soil or water) have been identified that pose a threat to public health and safety. Furthermore, Granite’s Walltown Quarry will firmly adhere to the safety standards imposed by Granite Construction Company, Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), as well as the Sacramento Environmental Management Department, Sacramento Department of Transportation, Sacramento Planning and Community Development Department, Sacramento Department of Water Resources, and the Sacramento Air Quality Management District.
