Are there any specific restrictions before the MRI examination?
A. Usually, there are no dietary restrictions before a MRI, however, there are some precautions you can take to ensure your safety and the best possible images during the exam. It is very important that you do not wear into the exam area: – Hairspray – Jewelry – Eyeglasses – Hearing aid – Makeup – Any removable dental work Please inform the Technologist if you have: – A pacemaker – A metal plate, pin or other metallic implant – Cochlear implants/metallic ear implant – Aneurysm clips – An artificial heart valve – An intrauterine device (IUD) – If you are pregnant – If you were exposed to any metal fragments through a war wound, as a metal worker or through construction, house cleaning or painting work.
