Are there any state or federal laws regulating embryo donation and adoption?
At present, the Food and Drug Administration has implemented mandates that are meant to protect the spread of communicable diseases as the result of donated human tissue, including that found within embryo donation and adoption. In addition, some states have restrictions related to the transfer of embryos from one state to another. Contract law is used to govern embryo donation and adoption at the present time.
