Are there any subtle tributes to vampire legend, books or film?
I kept sending Old-World lore to Chuck and there are hommages to Calmet, Summers, etc. And obviously the plane is the “Demeter” in Dracula, Eldritch Palmer is a wink to Philip K Dick and so on- Obviously I AM LEGEND (which curiously enough -in the Will Smith film- has some echoes of the Reapers in BLADE 2) and SALEM’S LOT but we bring a much more brutal, animalistic Vampire to play. When I was a kid there was a Mexican movie about a Rabies epidemic and it affected me so much that I think that would be an influence. CRONOS is referenced obliquely in the book several times but I believe we offer some biological reinvention that will become bolder and bolder with each book. Our take on vampires will be accumulatively big. Book by book we will give you new biology, new mythology and new symbology.
