Are there any success stories that demonstrate that indeed ex-prisoners have used the education to make a living?

For God's sake people! This is not about this man's degree! It is about how well he has served and still does! His CV is impeccable! There are people out there with degrees who are utterly useless! The pragmatism shown by this man is what we need in our country. Whether a person has connection to the military or not is irrelevant! I don't believe that these former soldiers, who have served well in our army that has had a brilliant working relationship with civillians over the years, do not have independence of minds and thought! They, perhaps, do it in the right fora and in a mature and respecful manner expected of leaders! Shouting from the roof tops when having difference of opinion with others as promoted by politicians is cheap and not helpful! It leads to bad blood and poor cooperation between people and ultimately failure to deliver. It may give tabloids stories to sell but at a cost for us when it comes to providing services!  more
