Are there certain locations in the Artic or the Antarctica where the yearly temperatures are the same?
A quick search turned up climatic data for Barrow, Alaska, and McMurdo Sound in Antarctica. The numbers are quite similar, with McMurdo a few degrees cooler in the summer, and there are probably even better matches given the lengths of the Arctic and Antarctic coastlines and the low number of reporting stations. There may also be matches between the coldest parts of the Greenland ice sheet and the warmest parts of the West Antarctic ice sheet, although there is even less detailed data than for the coastlines.
